Clare Murray

Clare Murray is an experienced, expert translator, specialising in the translation and proofreading of scientific texts and articles. She has exceptional technical and professional skills and the ability to write clearly and concisely in English. Her goal is to form a long-term partnership with her clients. As such, she takes a personal approach to all her projects, giving each translation and proofreading assignment a great deal of attention and care.

Clare was born in Scotland where she grew up with a fascination for language and foreign language learning. Over the years she has studied English, French, Italian, German and Scottish Gaelic, but her first love was and remains Spanish. She is proficient in the language, achieving the DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) C1 certificate from the Instituto Cervantes in 2016.

She holds an MA from the University of St Andrews and a BA from the University of the West of Scotland. In addition to Spanish, her academic career encompassed a diverse range of disciplines including Humanities, Business Administration and Management, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship and Economics. This academic knowledge and experience is invaluable to her work as a scientific and academic translator.

As a highly successful Head of Human Resources, Clare specialised in organisational culture and development. Her creative, innovative and high-performance approach resulted in her company being named in the prestigious Sunday Times List of the UK's Top 100 Companies To Work For for three consecutive years. She now brings this same commitment to excellence to the Spanish to English translation of scientific and academic articles.

Clare qualified as a teacher of English as a second language (TEFL) in 2012 and fulfilled a long term dream of moving to Spain. Since then she has developed recognised expertise teaching English to students of all ages and levels, and is experienced in Cambridge and Trinity exam preparation and Cambridge exam invigilation.
